Pick It Up Environmental Learning Center
Learn It. See It. Do It. Make a Difference.
Welcome to the Pick It Up Environmental Learning Center, where environmental education moves beyond the screen and into our homes, schools, neighborhoods, businesses, parks, and communities.
Knowing that pollution exists is only the beginning.
The real question is:
What can each of us do about it?
That is what this program is designed to teach.
Guided by TKT, our environmental learning companion, participants explore how litter, waste, recycling, pollution, and everyday decisions affect the world around us—and then learn practical ways to become part of the solution.

Your Journey Starts Here
Chapter 1 — Understanding Our Environment
Start with the foundation.
What is pollution?
Where does it come from?
How does it affect people, wildlife, water, land, and neighborhoods?
Understanding the problem gives us the knowledge to respond responsibly.
Chapter 2 — The Journey of Trash
What happens after something enters a trash can—or never makes it into one?
Follow the journey of waste and discover how litter, landfills, waterways, recycling systems, and human behavior are connected.
Recycling 101
Recycling is more than placing something in a bin.
Learn what recycling is designed to accomplish, why sorting matters, how contamination creates problems, and how better everyday decisions can reduce unnecessary waste.
TKT’S CHALLENGE
Don’t just finish the lesson. Find one thing you can change.
After each learning section, ask yourself:
What did I learn?
What did I notice around me?
What can I do differently?
Who can I teach?
Small actions become habits.
Habits influence families.
Families influence communities.
Communities can change the environment around them.
Knowledge + Action = Impact
The goal of this program is not simply to complete a course.
The goal is to help create people who understand environmental responsibility well enough to practice it.
Participants should leave the program better prepared to:
Reduce litter and unnecessary waste.
Recycle more responsibly.
Recognize environmental problems.
Participate safely and responsibly in community activities.
Encourage environmental responsibility in others.
Support cleaner neighborhoods and public spaces.
Become environmental leaders within their own communities.
Complete. Participate. Be Recognized.
Eligible participants may progress through educational activities, knowledge checks, community participation, and other program requirements toward Pick It Up Environmental Initiative Corp recognition and awards.
Recognition should represent meaningful participation—not simply clicking through a webpage.
Where verification is required, completion and participation must be documented before recognition is issued.
Ready?
TKT has one question for you:
Are you ready to learn something today that can change what you do tomorrow?

How Recycling Interrupts the Journey of Trash.
How Recycling Interrupts the Journey of Trash
Recycling changes what happens after we throw something away. Instead of ending up in landfills or waterways, materials can be turned into new products. In this lesson, participants learn how recycling reduces pollution and protects communities and wildlife.
